Grade 8

Grade 8 explored wet media and life drawing.

We started out with a Still Life. Sketching in the composition with black wax crayon, adding highlights and textures with white crayon. The wax resists the fluid coloured inks.

We went onto single figures. Learners took turns modelling and drawing

We Then progressed to groups of figures.

Taking turns modeling gave learners a different perspective in the life drawing process. It also created anticipation and an sense of urgency to get on with the drawing as time was limited.
